Among these, Koratagere AC is kept for the Scheduled Castes.

Currently, BJP is the ruling party in Tumkur since 2004 elections along with 1998 and 1991 Lok Sabha Elections as well. INC was in power from 1977 to 1989 in Tumkur and in 1999 Lok Sabha Elections also. With the emergence of a new party called Aam Aadmi Party or AAM, who is contesting for the first time in the 16th Lok Sabha Elections during April-May 2014.
